Kowloon a no-go; restaurant for sale

Rumors have been circulating this week about Kowloon Bay, the planned locally owned restaurant that Market Basket was the first to tell you details about in early April.

Back then, we spoke with the co-owners inside the building, located at 4725 Grape Road, about their Asian-fusion concept.

On Wednesday, the former Texas Land & Cattle restaurant building was officially listed on the market again by CB Richard Ellis-Bradley, South Bend.

The 6,368-square-foot building is listed for sale at $1.2 million.

A call to Jim Lacey, one of the Kowloon Bay co-owners, was not returned in time for this column.

The restaurant renovation had nearly been completed.

A June 1 date initially had been set for the opening, but the interior still needed some minor details to be completed. The building is being marketed as an upscale sit-down restaurant with a bar that could be easily adapted to various restaurant concepts.
