Summit Club Open to Public for Reservations

There's something offputting about a "private" club that deigns to allow the public in during a slow period of the year. No thanks! Too many fine restaurants to fall for that offer.

That doesn't surprise me. Timing is everything. I guess they are looking for some cash flow. I'm watching for the open reservation policy to last a little longer that originally projected...

The Summit Club closed today.

I've lived in south bend for almost 12 years now and i didn't know that place existed till a few months ago when my friend told me about a groupon or something similar. All i remember from the conversation is that its way too over priced. I get the appeal of a private members only club, i do. However you can't run a large operation like that with no clientele. And who wants to pay for a membership to a restaurant in this city? Talk about fiddling while roman burns!

Yeah, no wonder their business plan failed after only 40 years.

I guess its tough when you're on the top floor overlooking the beautiful metropolis and the elevator doesn't work. I ate lunch there a few weeks ago and I think there was one other table occupied.

Saw this coming a while ago. Too bad in a way. Just the start of the domino theory.
Perhaps someone is wanting to buy the top floor of the Chase so they can turn it into a penthouse so they can look over their kingdom.

Oh don't be a dick. Yes they lasted for 40 years, however they failed to adapt to the changing economic times and went out of business. Adapt or die.
