Grecian Festival begins Friday at Saint Andrew
June 05, 2011

SOUTH BEND -- The Saint Andrew Greek Orthodox Church's 36th annual Grecian Festival will take place Friday through June 12, on the church grounds at 52455 N. Ironwood Road, two blocks north of Cleveland Road.

Hours are 4 to 11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. June 12.

The family-friendly Grecian Festival features food, music and an atmosphere of Greece. Festival-goers will see posters with descriptions, anecdotes and other interesting facts about life in Greece.

Tours will offer information from more than 2,000 years of Orthodox history with its traditions, religious items and their uses. Those taking the tour need to be in proper attire (no shorts or tank tops), and no food is allowed in the church.
