If you own a newspaper, you must have content to supplement the revenue-creating advertisements.

So low and behold, a pandemic comes along -- "never let a crisis go to waste".

Obituaries are also revenue-creating. Heck, with the high death rates in the Democrat-controlled cities, you can easily fill another page or two with the large number of deaths there. You ban the use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to jack up the death rates.
