The Mayor is trying to protect his political rear end.
Having been around 2 of those who got money and their language I can only imagine what has been said.
At one Ethnic Festival the "n" word was prevalant from 2 of them

Thank you for your interest Mr. Mayor.

Personally, I'm happy to drink fine scotch and smoke fine cigars with just about anyone. Beyond that, Jumbo, I've not seen much that tells me the city is making progress. I'll even cut the BoyMayor slack due to spending months serving our country, but still, tangible results?

Jumbo,

Now think about this for a moment... TheBoyMayor asked for the job. He ran for office and was elected. I'm looking for tangible results and measuring them along the following lines, although this is far from a comprehensive list:

Do I feel safer when in the City of South Bend limits than I did three to four years ago?

Are the city streets in better shape than they were before the Mayor took office?

Do the City Police appear to be happier than they were under the previous Mayor? (Closely related to #1)

Is there a plan in place to deal with the housing problems in the City? Is it rational?

Is the City of South Bend doing anything to lure people into the city center?

Is the City making decisions that will likely drive people from going downtown?

Is the City of South Bend spending lots of money on consultants, or are they actually spending that money on measurable change?
The problem here is that I don't see much being done by those who asked for the job to get the job done.

Concur with bob. Busting one's tail is one thing. Getting results is another.

That said, getting results is often a long term process, and on this mayor I'd say the jury is still out.
So my question to Jumbo is, what CONCRETE policy direction changes and or programs has this mayor introduced/implemented that will prove to be or have proven to improve the quality of life in the city?

Jumbo,

For what it is worth, two way streets downtown are not an accomplishment...
