6. South Bend, Ind.

Population: 316,900
State tax on Social Security: No
State tax on pensions: Yes

The median home price is $82,500, the median mortgage payment is $315 and the median property tax is $846. There are no state taxes on Social Security; there are on pensions. South Bend is best known as the home of the University of Notre Dame, and free campus tours are offered. The university also draws well-known entertainment acts, according to AARP. At left, University of Notre Dame in South Bend.

Yeah, right !!!

High crime ?
High gas prices, burdened with surcharge to finance local corruption ?
High property taxes if you live outside of the poverty-ridden city ?
Declining city, led into the abyss by uninspiring leadership ?
Clueless leaders ?

Retire in comfort ?

Do you know of ANYONE who is anxiously looking forward to retirement in South Bend ?
Who makes these lists anyhow ??????

They sure as heck got the city's population all wrong -- try LESS THAN 1/3 of that number !

according to AARP

That is all I had to read for the article to lose credibility.... I wouldn't believe anything the AARP/Obamacare champions said...

Buck wonders if the author is personally acquainted with Buttigieg, Roos or another 14th floor flunky? She appears to be in their age group. A college classmate perhaps?
